Q: What is a Pawn Loan?

A:  A pawn loan is a loan that is backed by a customers collateral for a period of time for a fee which is called interest. The loans are based on the value of the collateral and can include anything of value like jewelry, watches, gold, silver, diamonds, guitars, guns, antiques, electronics, television, radios, and many more things like that.

Q: What is the Interest Rate and is it regulated?

A: Heritage Jewelry and Loan charges 10% per month on any loan under $1,340.00.  Any loan over $1,341.00 - $16,7500.00 range from 2.5%- 1% per month.  All rates are regulated by the State of Texas via the Office of Consumer Credit. Heritage Jewelry and Loan charges 1/2 of the highest allowable rates to better help the consumer.

Q: Are my items insured while pledged?

A: Yes. The State of Texas requires all pawn shops in the State to carry theft and fire insurance. Heritage Jewelry and Loan carries more than the required amounts.

Q: Are the transactions confidential?

A:  Yes.  The State of Texas makes sure that there are strict privacy laws that we must adhear to.  Heritage Jewely and Loan will never discuss any transactions with anyone other than the original borrower.  Pawn  transactions are only shared with local law enforcement as per State laws.

Q: Is there a limit to the amount of loans a borrower can have?

A: No, there are no limits to the amount of loans that Heritage Jewelry and Loan can write to the borrower.

Q: How long is the loan for?

A: The loan is for 30 days with a State of Texas mandated 30 day grace period, however, this is not free. So for simplicity sake, its is for 60 days.

Q: Can my loan time be extended?

A: Yes. All the borrower has to do is pay a monthly interest fee and they are given additional time, usually 30 additional days.  As long as the loan doesn't go beyond 60 days without a payment of at least the monthly minimum, the loan can stay with Heritage Jewelry and Loan for a slong as the customer wants.
